Esmae, anyone know her breed?
« on: February 24, 2014, 02:59:32 AM »
We got Esmae when she was just 8 weeks old. She'll now be turning 4 years old in July! We have always wanted to do a DNA test, but never have been able to, YET...The Vet has her written down as a red nose brindle Pit. I've just always wanted to know if she was a pure American Pit bull Terrier, a Stafford shire Terrier, or a mix of some sort. Hoping to do a DNA test soon, but wanted to see what other's on here thought! She's had a VERY rough life and I love her to pieces and spoil her every day! :) Hope the pictures work! Oh, and she had floppy ears when she was a young puppy, but now they stand, tall and big! Some people have even pointed that out and asked if she was a pure or not while other's have stopped me and sad I had a gorgeous pittie...Who truly knows, lol. She's very short, and supposed to be around 54-55lbs but is currently at 65 due to it being Winter and she always seems to put on more weight around this time of year. She also had two puppies and they are mixed and much bigger than she is, if any of that helps figure out what she is. :)

American pitpull terriers are taller and more lean. Staffordshire Terriers are more short and stocky. Both can carry erect ears but not as often most of the time theyvare to heavy unless they get chropped. Both are still purebred Pitbulls. Just different lines. Working in a Vet hospital for 8years you see ALOT of themn shes beautiful though.
I would say shes Stratford shire Terrier but she could a mix of the 2. People do that do adays.

She is a super cutie! I agree with the others, she does look like she's either a Staffordshire Terrier or pittbull mix of some sort. I love her sweet face. :)
