Somebody told me the new light cat litters are bad for cats. True?

Light cat litter?  I've not heard of it.  What's the difference?

For example, the Tidy Cat plastic jug with the feather on it contains the same volume of litter but weighs half the amount. Since we live upstairs, I have two featherweight daughters, and my husband is disabled, we've been using it. But a customer at Walmart said the new lighter litter is bad for cats. I don't know in what way...

I can't seem to find anything that says what the difference is, or anything.  The only thing I could think of would be that it might stick to them more and make them ingest more, but that's pure speculation on my part.

Some of the Amazon reviews say that it's extremely dusty and has caused lung irritation in both owners and cats.
