Dog Food Idea for Beef Roasts
« on: April 12, 2016, 02:48:22 PM »
My parents gave my husband and I several large sized beef roasts even after I protested several times and told them that we don't like beef roast and won't eat them.

I don't want them to go to waste.  Hubby Guy suggested feeding them to the dogs.  I have two English Pointers.

I have looked online and can not find any recipes for dog food or dog treats using beef roasts.  Any suggestions?

Treat everyday like a dog would.  If you can't eat it or chew on it then pee on it and walk away!

I recently had an incident with my freezer that resulted in lots of beef that is now "dog-quality". I just cook it in the crockpot with some water and freeze it in small quantities. The dogs get a few pieces on their meals every day (we usually mix stuff in- canned fish, pumpkin, yogurt, etc.). I don't know of any actual recipes though. You do want to be cautious of how much you add as it can throw off the nutritional balance of the other food they are eating.
