10 week old ferret mucoid diarrhea
« on: August 10, 2016, 09:15:22 PM »
I've had Madeline for a week now. She's my first ferret. She's a Marshall ferret from a reputable store. At first she had what looked to me like normal stress soft poops, and they were getting better. But the last 2-3 days I've found white goopy mucus in her box (twice) and the poop on top of it has a weird grainy consistency. She's on Marshall pellets and I give her a small amount of Instinct freeze dried raw once a day. She's already had a stool sample checked, came back negative. But that was the second day I had her.

I've read about ECE and other diseases but the thing is she's totally fine-- great appetite and energy, happy little girl. I don't know how worried to be. Should I recheck her stool? Wait and see if it's stress and goes away with probiotics? Or is it like go to the vet asap? She already had a PE.

Thanks for help.
