Baytril dosage for UTI
« on: October 25, 2016, 02:17:24 PM »
Hi all... how much baytril is normal for a uti? Our vets have just put Skye on 0.2ml 2.5% twice a day but she didn't instil me with confidence and she's made me worry even more...

I assume 2.5% means 25mg/ml as baytril 10% is 100mg/ml. So 0.2ml means 5mg of baytril/dose. The minimum recommended on RatGuide is 5mg/kg so she has been dosed at about 12 mg/kg. The highest recomnended dosage is 20mg/kg once a day. Is she getting baytril once or twice a day?

So I think we've worked this out, for the maximum recommended dose of 10mg/kg per 12hours, she should be getting 0.16 ml. Emphasis on I think!
