Male vs. Female
« on: April 10, 2017, 10:49:48 PM »
Mrs. Ratty and I were thinking about getting more rats. We've always had females before and we we thinking of trying males this time. We hear they're not as active as females although we've also heard about them being territorial. Could anyone enlighten us on this?

I've only ever had males - they're great!  Some have been very active, but even those got a lot less active by the time they turned a year old.  I've had some that were a little more difficult to introduce to others, but never any that were territorial. Of the 12 males I've had in the last 6 years, 2 were neutered by the rescue I got them from but I haven't noticed any health or behavioral issues between the neutered vs. intact rats. They've all had their own unique and wonderful personalities :)  Good luck!
