Summer heat
« on: July 05, 2018, 07:19:14 PM »
I always worry about the rats this time of year, because the Central Air Unit in our apartment is often undependable. It's bad enough for us trying to tolerate the heat in our apartment when the A/C conks out, but I always worry that the rats will suffer. Anyone else have this problem? How much summer heat can rats take?

The Rest Guide says they need to be between 65 and 79 degrees Fahrenheit, or 18 to 28 degrees Celsius.  There are ways to keep your rats cool, such as giving them cool water to dip their tails in.  If you have a fan in the room, the breeze should not blow directly on the cage.
What is a rat?  King-sized love in a pint-sized package.
